Que es?
The Weblog of Brett Singer. Bringing the world what it needs most - a blog.

Note: Sorry about all of the 'hot deals' entries (someone referred to this blog as CorporateShill.com).
The deals and things are being fed into Multineedia.com. We will soon move the deals category over to Multineedia so you don't have to read it, and we apologize for any inconvenience.

    Top 20 MP3s from Technorati

Technorati has the 'Most talked about MP3s in the last 48 hours.' (Link via Lucas again.) This seems dippy to me for a couple of reasons, one being the 'most talked about' language - it's the most linked, which doesn't necessarily mean anything. Also vaguely interesting is the fact that the files are mostly unauthorized MP3s (that is, commercial music not licensed for public giveitaway-ness). Also, there's a lot of 'Unknown Artist', meaning (I think) that these are badly tagged music files. (Webjaying the page creates an uh-glee playlist.)

What does this mean? That bloggers steal music, and badly? I don't think so.

What would be more interesting is something that filtered out the Billy Idol and Weezer tracks and left the stuff that's available for legal posting.

And there's something else: 'Billy_Idol_-White_Wedding_128_kbps-_original_rip_from_cd_80s_music.mp3' is one of the most linked to MP3 files? Could that possibly be correct? Pump that fist, blog man.

    Our Military In Action
Outrage as fighter jet fires on US school - yes, a fighter jet. I thought this was a joke. Not a FUNNY joke, mind you, but it seemed too ludicrous to be true. And yet, there it is. What exactly were these guys thinking? Maybe they were still pissed over not getting a date for the junior prom.

    John McCain, Nutjob

'It's clear that Yasser Arafat will meet Allah sooner or later - or whoever he meets - and this is going to give an opportunity for the Middle East peace process,' McCain said Saturday. 'I know the president's committed to it.'

Okay, maybe nuts is a little strong. But only a little. What kind of thing is that to say? this site says 'Clearly this is a perfect example for why John McCain should never be President. If McCain was the President right now and he made this joke, the Arab world would freak out.' True. But he's not President. Although I think most people believe he plans to run (he essentially sold his soul to the Party by supporting Bush, despite the fact that Bush ran a scummy campaign against McCain in the 2000 primary). This is what a lot of people have said about him - that he's just plain nuts, is a loose cannon, and in a real campaign, will lose it worse than Howard Dean ever did.

Jim Makes a Point About Gay Marriage
Jim Nachlin thinks that church-marriage should be distinguished from state-marriage. He's right, but to the people who don't want men to get married, there is no distinction. What we need is a real separation of church and state, which just ain't happening anytime soon (annoyingly).
