Que es?
The Weblog of Brett Singer. Bringing the world what it needs most - a blog.
Note: Sorry about all of the 'hot deals' entries (someone referred to this blog as
CorporateShill.com).
The deals and things are being fed into Multineedia.com. We will
soon move the deals category over to Multineedia so you don't have to read it, and we apologize for any inconvenience.

Stupid Authentication Schemes
Flickr seems like a neat site, so I registered. I need to confirm the registration. Here's what I got:
Hi [username]!
welcome! We look forward to seeing you around the place.
account you need to confirm that you got this email (you
won't be able to log in again with this account until you
have at least one confirmed email address in the system).
the whole address into the address bar of your browser. If
that doesn't help, please forward this email, noting down
your screen name, to help@flickr.com - and we'll do our
best to help you!
There was no hyperlink, or even a plain-text URL to cut and paste. I forwarded the message to help@flickr.com per their request. Not terribly hopeful.
I know the site is in beta, but isn't registering users something that about a billion websites have been doing successfully for quite some time?
Of course, none of this matters now that we're totally screwed here in the U.S. of A., none of this really matters much.

Barack Obama In The Times
This is a frightening thing that no one is really talking about (at least not enough on mainstream media):
Barack Obama's overwhelming victory in Illinois will make him only the fifth black U.S. senator in history
Democratic rising star Barack Obama swept into the .S. Senate on Tuesday, becoming only the third black ever popularly elected to the chamber, U.S. television networks projected.
How is this possible? It's 2004. You would think the Civil War had just ended.
