Que es?
The Weblog of Brett Singer. Bringing the world what it needs most - a blog.

Note: Sorry about all of the 'hot deals' entries (someone referred to this blog as CorporateShill.com).
The deals and things are being fed into Multineedia.com. We will soon move the deals category over to Multineedia so you don't have to read it, and we apologize for any inconvenience.

    Playlist Blast From The Past

This playlist dates back to May 13, 2003. So far about half the songs are
    still where they should be.

It's an eclectic mix (even though I don't care for that word), with Bad Brains, Yo La Tengo, and even Madonna (saying "What The Fuck").

    Speak trippingly on the tongue...

    Yahoo Education gives you the
pronounciation of words. This is href="http://education.yahoo.com/reference/dictionary/pronounce?id=A0211400&path=prons/A0211400.wav">Allhallowmas,
which was the subject of some spam I received - 'Happy Allhallowmas. Make your penis bigger!'

    Happy Birthday, Sister-Of-A-Drunken-Ho-Cake...

Inside Nicky's Bond Girl Birthday -
I thought she was supposed to be the smart one?

Here's the thing: rich isn't good enough for the Hiltons? They have to be famous too? It worked: I mean, Paris
'wrote' a book, hell, her dog even wrote a book. The parents have a reality TV show coming up. And if she wanted to,
Paris could make a FORTUNE in porn. But why bother? Why not just relax? I guess I'll never know what it's like to be
    rich and dissatisfied.

Everyone should buy it because then record companies will start selling these things. Of course, at the moment, they're free, but by sanctioning the
sale of mash-ups (at least, in theory) they are saying that it's (sort of) okay to do it.

Here's the page where you used to be able to get it for free. You can, however, still
get this (paul mccartney & wings "with a little luck" vs. prince & the revolution
"1999"), as well as other stuff here.

Lesson for the day: Recording CDs

So I imagine most people know this, but I didn't. To burn a wave file to a CD, the file needs to be 16 bit, 44100khz. Thinking I was getting a better
quality audio file (I was, but it was useless) I recorded a vinyl record (kids: these are those large round black things with the hole in the middle) to
my PC at 16bit, 48000khz. Larger file size, wouldn't burn to CD. Feh. So there you are.

    Fixed!

Now it does what I want. Thank you Jim.

    Sense of Satisfaction

Little things are capable of making me, if not happy, at least pleasantly pleased for awhile. Case in point: href="http://brettsinger.net/projects/blog/index.cgi/2004/10/18#441khz">figuring out the correct bitrate for recording CDs. Very satisfying.
